Medicines were not always managed safely. Records were not always signed to confirm prescribed medicines had been administered. Temperatures relating to the safe storage of medicines were not always recorded.
The provider had not ensured sufficient oversight of the service to ensure improvements to governance arrangements had been made. There was no recorded analysis to identify potential emerging themes or trends from incidents.
Staff had created a compassionate and caring culture within the home and knew people’s needs well. People lived in a safe environment where equipment was monitored and maintained. They were supported by enough staff who had been recruited safely and were protected from the risk of infection because the environment was kept clean.
The provider had good links with external healthcare services and worked well with them. Feedback received from external healthcare professionals was positive. They reported staff had a clear focus on achieving positive outcomes for people.
