Coghlan Care Ltd is a domiciliary care service registered to provide personal care to people living in their own homes. We carried out a comprehensive assessment from 18 February to 9 March 2026 and covered all key questions and quality statements. This is the first assessment of the service.
At the time of our assessment there were 4 people receiving a regulated activity. The Care Quality Commission (CQC) only inspects where people receive a regulated activity, which at this service was personal care. Personal care is help with tasks related to personal hygiene. Where the service does provide personal care, we also consider any wider social care provided during our assessment.
At this assessment we found Coghlan Care Ltd offered a good, consistent service to people. The provider demonstrated strong leadership, governance, and a proactive safety culture built on openness and honesty. Systems were in place to monitor incidents, complaints, and risks, with lessons learned shared with staff. Safeguarding processes were kept up to date, and staff were confident in raising any concerns.
There were enough staff to support people, who were suitably trained in their role. Recruitment processes were in place for the employment of staff. Infection prevention and control processes were monitored, and people were supported to manage their medicines safely. Care delivery was effective, evidence-based, and regularly reviewed. Outcomes were monitored to drive improvement. People were able to consent to their care and support.
The service worked in partnership with people and their families to plan and deliver care tailored to people's individual needs and preferences. Care plans were person centred and clear for staff to follow. Staff spoke positively about their work, their role and the support provided by the registered manager.
