Our view of the service

Date of assessment: 22 December 2025. White Rose Court is a residential care home, registered to provide accommodation and personal care for up to 21 older people. At the time of our assessment, there were 20 people living at the service. We carried out a comprehensive assessment of the service covering all quality statements, in all key questions. This assessment was carried out due to the length of time since the last assessment. People were protected and kept safe from harm. People told us they felt looked after at the service by kind and caring staff. The service had a positive learning culture, and people and staff told us they felt they could raise concerns, which the registered manager investigated effectively. Staff made sure people understood their care and treatment to enable them to give informed consent. The provider demonstrated a positive and inclusive culture, supported by effective governance and a motivated management team. Leaders were proactive in driving improvements and maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements. They worked effectively with people, relatives, healthcare professionals and community organisations to achieve positive outcomes. Staff received appropriate training and ongoing support and understood their responsibilities in keeping people safe. Risk management, infection prevention and control practices were positive, and medicines were administered by trained and competent staff.

People and relative comments included, “The staff seem to be well trained here. Staff understand what I want and what I like.” And, “I feel [relative] is safe here because staff look after them brilliantly.” The registered manager and staff team were responsive to people’s changing needs, concerns and people’s care documentation reflected this. Staff constantly monitored people’s needs, wishes, and worked well together as a team to meet them. People and their relatives had choice and control over the way staff provided care and support and when this happened. Staff encouraged and supported people to do as much as they could for themselves to maintain and improve their independence. They were supported to maintain social and family contacts and pursue interests and hobbies to reduce social isolation. A person told us, “There is a lot of choice for trips and activities here. You can go out as you please.” People and their relatives spoke positively about the care and support provided at the service.
