Our view of the service

Date of assessment 15 January 2026 to 28 January 2026. Homecare Solutions For You Ltd is a domiciliary care service supporting people within their own homes. At the time of this assessment the service was supporting 20 people with regulated activities. CQC only inspects where people are in receipt of regulated activities such as personal care. We spoke with 8 people and their relatives, 4 care staff as well as the registered manager and nominated individual. We sought feedback from health and social care professionals.

This was the first assessment of Homecare solutions for you Ltd.

We found 6 breaches of legal regulations in relation to safe care and treatment, person-centred care, consent, dignity, good governance and fit and proper persons employed. Care plans did not always contain correct, up to date information and lacked specific details and guidance for staff about people’s individual support needs. Risk assessments were not always in place and wherethey were, they lacked sufficient detail and guidance for staff. Medicine management and administration required improvements. Where people received support with their medicines, staff did not always include enough information such as actions taken when medicines were not in place, additionally this was not identified through the providers audits. People did not always receive their medicines as prescribed. The provider did not maintain accurate logs of accidents, incidents and complaints. This lack of oversight prevented the identification of themes and trends, also limiting the ability to take action to mitigate risks or learn from events.

Governance arrangements were not effective, as existing audits failed to identify the concerns foundduring this assessment. The provider began taking steps to strengthen audit processes during this assessment.

Assessments were completed before people began using the service and regularly involved both individuals and their relatives. However, there was no recorded evidence that consent had been obtained for relatives to participate or be consulted in the person’s care.

We were not assured all staff were recruited safely as we identified gaps in recruitment checks. However, staff told us they mainly felt supported within their roles, and they had built a good rapport with the people they were supporting.

We have asked the provider for an action plan in response to some of the concerns identified at this assessment. In instances where CQC have decided to take civil or criminal enforcement action against a provider, we will publish this information on our website after any representations and/ or appeals have been concluded.

This service is being placed in special measures. The purpose of special measures is to ensure that services providing inadequate care make significant improvements. Special measures provide a framework within which we use our enforcement powers in response to inadequate care and provide a timeframe within which providers must improve the quality of the care they provide.

One person told us, “They really care for (relative) the improvement in (relative) is noticeable since having regular carers”. Another person told us, “I am never rushed and I am given choices about everything they do”.

People told us they knew how to raise a concern if required and were confident to do so. One person told us, “I am extremely satisfied with my carers, I have no complaints at all with anything they do for me”. Another person told us, “I haven’t had much contact with the manager, I have a contact number, and I was told to ring it if I needed to”.

One person told us, “(Relative) is very safe with them, they have really got to know (relative) and are very aware of their personal needs.” Another said, “I am very sure (relative) is completely safe with them”.

Although people were happy with the service, during this assessment we found significant elements of care that did not meet expected standards and put people at risk of harm.
