During an assessment under our new approach
Dates of assessment: 29 January to 3 February 2026. The assessment was triggered in response to risk. Kayla Supported Living Ltd is a domiciliary care service that provides personal care and support for people in their own homes. Not everyone who used the service received personal care. CQC only inspects where people receive personal care. This is help with tasks relating to personal hygiene and eating. Where they do, we also consider any wider social care provided. At the time of the inspection the service was supporting 2 people with personal care.
We identified 5 breaches of regulation relating to person centred care, safe care and treatment, staffing, good governance and fit and proper persons. There was a lack of oversight at the service and quality assurance systems and processes were not in place. People’s care was not person-centred and risks to people were not managed safely. Medicines were not managed safely. There was a failure to identify and monitor the experiences of people using the service. There were no records available to evidence staff had been recruited safely and staff did not receive training or support.
In instances where CQC have decided to take civil or criminal enforcement action against a provider, we will publish this information on our website after any representations and/or appeals have been concluded.
This service is being placed in special measures. The purpose of special measures is to ensure that services providing inadequate care make significant improvements. Special measures provide a framework within which we use our enforcement powers in response to inadequate care and provide a timeframe within which providers must improve the quality of the care they provide.
